Goldfinger starts with a “shocking” James Bond electricity innuendo and ends with the one above.
After Bond defeats Oddjob in the Fort Knox vault with a live electrical wire, Bond’s quick remark is a nice touch. This, after the always-humorous Goldfinger Felix Leiter refers to Oddjob as Bond’s “butler” friend in example of Cec Linder’s sarcastic Leiter portrayal.
But It’s a fitting end for Oddjob, whose most intimidating weapon, the razor-sharp blade in his bowler hat, ultimately plays a role in his demise. Also of note is Oddjob’s spoken lines, err sounds, that bookend his onscreen presence, beginning with his majestic “Ahh-ahh!” golf ball spot alert and ending with a dramatic AHHHHH!lectric conclusion.
