Not directly, but I wouldn’t mind a clever nod. If Bond 26 opens with a rebooted 007 carrying on as if nothing happened, a small part of me will inevitably wonder whether we’re really supposed to ignore Bond’s death in No Time to Die. I’d get over it quickly I’m sure, but a title that hints at a rebirth or rising from the ashes would help bridge the gap.
Something like You Only Die Once walks that line rather well. It’s a bit cheeky but unmistakably Bondian and an updated and relevant take on 1967’s You Only Live Twice. It’d be just self-aware enough to acknowledge the (dead) elephant in the room without the need of turning the entire movie into a commentary on the previous one.
