After more than 30 years as a James Bond fan, I’ve grown increasingly tired of rankings, tournaments, and declarations of the “best ever.” They can be fun, but they’re also fleeting. These days, I prefer discussing my Bond movie favorites rather than absolutes. A few rewatches are often enough to change supposedly definitive opinion on almost any Bond movie or topic.
Believe it or not, I’ve currently got a soft spot for 1967’s Casino Royale (gasp!).

Although this is one of Ben Whishaw’s Q’s best self-deprecating lines…yes! I kind of was! We’ve definitely been robbed of clever/state of the art James Bond gadgets recently. The next movie needs to go back to its roots and get Bond something flashy and fun!
“He would have given him wings, Mr. Kidd.” The delivery is a bit bland, but I do enjoy this quip from Diamonds Are Forever. After murdering two people no less…sinister.
