GoldenEye (1995)

Shaken, but not stirred…hahaha!

In GoldenEye, Valentin Zukovsky mocks Bond for his custom drink order. Judging by his laugh and his encouragement of his own men to join in, it seems that Bond’s specific preference is already well known among certain criminal circles. That raises an amusing question: as a secret agent, how secret can James Bond really be if something as personal as his drink order is practically common knowledge? I suppose an enemy of a criminal syndicate would have some sort of a reputation but I doubt if it was this well-known a real-world spy would get swapped for another agent.

Regardless of how realistic of a scenario this would be for an actual spy, it’s no surprise that Zukovsky returned in The World Is Not Enough. Brosnan and Robbie Coltrane had fantastic chemistry together. Their dynamic ran the gamut of witty banter, reluctant respect, and genuinely tense moments.
