As an American, I generally prefer the colour of my English without the British spelling. My normal behaviour when encountering British spelling puts a terrible flavour in my mouth, but I don’t harbour any ill-will towards the words. I apologise, but my mind simply doesn’t recognise them as their original words, but more like misspelled words. Please realise that this post is a labour of love, which I’m trying to steer you, my fellow neighbour Bond fan, towards humour, but I can’t guarantee it will result in splendour.
There is, however, exactly one British spelling of an English word I will consider using: licence. That’s because Licence To Kill is so awesome that I can now only see that word as it’s spelled in the movie title. No offence!
