Goldfinger (1964)

Why else would I be in it?

Bond isn’t the only one with his eye on Pussy Galore. Just before the infamous barn scene in Goldfinger, Auric Goldfinger lets his intentions slip while discussing Operation Grand Slam’s payoff. As he lightly strokes Pussy’s arm and invites her to join him in England afterward, it’s obvious he’s imagining far more than a professional partnership.

Pussy immediately shuts him down, dreaming instead of retiring to an island in the Bahamas before delivering the line above. The exchange sounds like Goldfinger has made similar advances before, which makes her dismissive response all the more satisfying. Unlike the playful charm Bond normally brings to flirtatious moments, Goldfinger’s approach is all entitlement and zero charisma.

Thankfully, the movie doesn’t linger on the idea for long, but it pretty much suggests that Goldfinger is a creep.
