As I’ve mentioned before, Tomorrow Never Dies is my favorite Pierce Brosnan Bond movie. It opens with a terrific pre-title sequence as Bond races to escape an arms bazaar housing stolen nuclear warheads, providing a worthy follow-up to GoldenEye‘s dam jump.
Brosnan’s second outing also wastes no time establishing his Bond, delivering the above quip after lighting a man’s cigarette before punching him in the face and launching his recovery of the nuclear weapons. It’s a brief but memorable introduction that perfectly captures Brosnan’s effortless charm. It’s a quintessential Brosnan quip that I remember getting a laugh from the viewing theater audience. It’s the perfect start to a Bond movie!
