Is James Bond out of touch? The above snobby remark from Lazenby’s 007 in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service would suggest so. That refined, worldly side of Bond has always been part of his appeal, even if it has shifted depending on the era. Overall, I think Bond’s refinement has certainly waned.

A reboot probably shouldn’t rush to make Bond a caviar expert overnight, but watching him develop those sophisticated tastes would certainly be a fun part of the journey. After all, a little old-school elegance is one of the ingredients that makes 007, 007.
