I doubt the road to Bond 26 will be filled exclusively with movie updates. Once Bond 26 arrives and enjoys its run in theaters and on Prime Video, the bigger question then becomes what comes next.

Will Amazon MGM focus on producing Bond films more regularly, or will the temptation of a broader 007 universe prove too strong? A streaming series built around supporting characters or corners of the franchise would hardly be a shocking development in today’s entertainment landscape, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it.

The optimist in me hopes the priority remains James Bond and the movies that made the franchise famous. The skeptic in me suspects that someone, somewhere, is already sketching out a spin-off pitch deck.
