Tomorrow Never Dies (1997)

He’s my new anchorman

It’s easy to miss one of Elliot Carver’s sharper lines in Tomorrow Never Dies, largely because it is buried under his bizarre karate pantomime aimed at Wai Lin. The gag itself is classic Bond wordplay, neatly tying James Bond’s presumed watery grave to an position at Carver’s media empire. Instead, it barely registers because of Carver’s dorky theatrics that feel oddly out of character.

Regardless, kudos to Carver for this blink-and-you’ll-miss-it quip.
