Are you calling me a horse’s ass?

In The Living Daylights, Kara Milovy and James Bond have some of the best chemistry between a Bond and a Bond girl in any movie. There are a lot of scenes that exhibit this, but one that stands out to me is when they’re in Afghanistan and Bond tries to tell Kara that she should essentially stay back, out of harms way.

Her frustration boils over with his insistence, and she eventually calls Bond a horse’s ass, albeit in Slovak. Bond responds incredulously with the above line, with a smile on his face as he dodges her pillow attack. And although it’s an insult and it was said out of frustration, both Timothy Dalton and Maryam d’Abo sell their underlying bond (pun intended) with laughter and adoring gazes.

If only Bond and Madeleine or Bond and Vesper had equivalent chemistry…
