Looking back at the wedding of Bond and Tracy in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, I’ve always been curious about the guest list and the overall scale of the event. The film provides very little concrete information, but the toast that addresses “royal highnesses, my lords, ladies and gentlemen” suggests that the gathering included members of the aristocracy and possibly even minor royals (the Queen was probably at least invited, right?). The crowd shots also indicate that the wedding was well attended but not extravagant. My impression is a guest list somewhere in the range of 300 to 500 people.
Another question involves Bond’s side of the ceremony. As an orphan and only child, he would have had relatively few personal connections to invite. Most of the attendees likely came through Tracy and her father, Marc-Ange Draco, whose wealth and influence would naturally draw a large European social circle. It also raises the possibility that some of Bond’s groomsmen could have been fellow double-0 agents from MI6, though the movie leaves any details of the wedding party entirely unexplored.
