During a recent interview on Extra promoting the upcoming Peaky Blinders movie, Cillian Murphy and Barry Keoghan were asked about the possibility of appearing in Bond 26. Keoghan handled the question with some enthusiasm, suggesting that he would at least be open to playing a villain. Murphy, however, avoided the topic entirely and declined to engage with the question of whether he would be interested in the role of Bond or even a supporting antagonist.

It’s kind of disappointing to hear such an esteemed actor brush of Bond so quickly and nonchalantly, but I guess it tracks when you are an Oscar winning actor and I guess, Bond is beneath you? Still, considering the history and prestige of the character, one might hope for a bit more curiosity rather than such a quick dismissal. C’mon, Cillian!
