Wait till you get to my teeth

This line from Thunderball is about as close as Bond ever comes to audibly purring on screen to show his interest in a woman.  It follows one of the movie’s most cliché exchanges, which almost makes it feel like an unfiltered moment.  What makes it memorable is that he mutters it under his breath, essentially talking to himself.  That subtlety gives the line a surprising bit of authenticity and is evidence that Bond is genuinely taken with Domino.

It’s another line in a long list of lines that made Connery’s Bond portrayal arguably the most genuine.

Yes, James Bond actually deployed that pickup line. Hard to believe, but he really does drop this timeless clunker when he first meets Domino Derval in Thunderball (while snorkeling, no less).  It’s not exactly 007’s most inspired piece of dialogue, and yet because he’s Bond, she was instantly captivated.  Naturally.
