John Terry’s portrayal of Felix Leiter in The Living Daylights is arguably the weakest interpretation in the franchise. The lack of genuine rapport between him and Bond is palpable, and the film’s editing choices only heighten that distance. When Bond delivers this brief line to Felix before the scene abruptly cuts away, it almost suggests the writers wanted to sidestep any meaningful exchange between the two. Unlike previous incarnations of the character, this version of Felix never earns the audience’s engagement and it’s a missed opportunity to showcase more of Terry’s take on the character.
