The Man With The Golden Gun (1974)

Stand back, girls.

The karate school scene in The Man with the Golden Gun is sneakily one of the campiest moments in the entire film, and that’s saying something.  After Bond gets unceremoniously bonked on the head by Nick Nack, Hai Fat decides the most logical way to get rid of an uninvited spy is…to send him to a karate school?

Lieutenant Hip and his nieces are particularly questionable as a compelling plot point.  Weren’t his nieces just supposed to be dropped off the previous night?  And Hip’s master plan to save Bond is to come unarmed with his karate nieces?

And the karate fights themselves?  Let’s just say they’re less “intense showdown” and more “choreographed puff pieces.”
