Skyfall (2012)

Anyone else not buy the end of Skyfall?

Even though Skyfall isn’t my favorite Daniel Craig outing (that honor goes to Spectre, thank you very much), I still have a soft spot for it. What I don’t have a soft spot for, however, is Bond and M’s most improbable road trip ever.

They decide to head off to the ancestral estate of Skyfall in the middle of a full-blown national crisis and apparently forget to invite literally anyone else along (including you know, backup, or Q Branch – not even a bobby in sight).  Then comes the so-called “raid” which I’m still not sure who has the more unbelievable outcome: Bond’s survival against all odds against such firepower or Silva’s abject failure to kill Bond with such firepower.

I get that the end of the movie is meant to be super personal, I’m just not sold on the setup.
