Okay, so Deadline apparently has the scoop that the next round of auditions for the role of James Bond in Bond 26 and beyond is set for August. It’s certainly a welcomed bit of news for fans eager to see production move forward and finally get a clearer picture of the next era of 007….
In Spectre, Bond’s interactions with Lucia Sciarra never quite land for me. After killing her husband Marco during the Mexico City helicopter sequence, Bond arrives at his funeral and immediately assumes Lucia will welcome his attention. Why don’t you acquaint yourself with the manual?” As John Cleese’s Q introduces Bond to his Aston Martin Vanquish, Bond’s casual toss of its user manual into the air for its destruction is my favorite Brosnan/Cleese interaction. I still laugh when the manual poofs into confetti.
