In Goldfinger, M tells Moneypenny over the speaker to skip talking to Bond outside his office… so can M just listen in on Moneypenny whenever he wants?  Or did he just assume their interaction was taking place and delaying Bond’s departure?  Or did she mistakenly leave the speaker on somehow?  Regardless, I love Bernard Lee’s pompous delivery of M’s lines!
