Is Die Another Day your favorite?

So by the law of averages, there has to be at least one Bond fan whose favorite movie is Pierce Brosnan’s final outing, 2002’s Die Another Day. Like every new Bond release, I walked out of the theater convinced it was the best thing 007 had ever done, but as any Bond fan knows, time has a way of stripping away the excitement and revealing where a movie truly stands amongst its peers.

I never like to yuck someone else’s yum, but revisiting it years later, I think the consensus is that Die Another Day‘s flaws outweigh its triumphs. Even so, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t still have fun watching it from time to time. And that’s not to say it’s absolutely awful, I mean plot-wise for instance, Graves’ exosuit weapon was pretty bad, but at least Bond didn’t die, right?

So here’s to the fan(s?) who proudly call Die Another Day their number one Bond movie, because every 007 favorite deserves a defender. At least we can all agree that nobody does it better!
