I know it’s unlikely to happen with the current over-the-top modern Bond with gadgets and action sequences galore, but part of me would love the next entry to have the pacing of the very first James Bond movie, Dr. No. The movie is great: it doesn’t rush and doesn’t lag, it’s simply consistent. There are explosions, sure, but they’re not the as climactic as in some other Bond movies. The dialogue is just as important as the action sequences, and most importantly, it doesn’t take itself too seriously.
As I’ve said before, Bond 26 would benefit from keeping it simple, and Dr. No is a perfect example of doing just that.
