Bond 26 with Dr. No’s pacing, please!

I know it’s unlikely to happen with the current over-the-top modern Bond with gadgets and action sequences galore, but part of me would love the next entry to have the pacing of the very first James Bond movie, Dr. No. The movie is great: it doesn’t rush and doesn’t lag, it’s simply consistent. There are explosions, sure, but they’re not the as climactic as in some other Bond movies. The dialogue is just as important as the action sequences, and most importantly, it doesn’t take itself too seriously.

As I’ve said before, Bond 26 would benefit from keeping it simple, and Dr. No is a perfect example of doing just that.

GoldenEye got a lot of things right, and it didn’t end with its iconic opening, sharp pacing, and strong characters. And it also didn’t end with the henchman of the movie, Boris Grishenko, who is a curiously underrated henchman. Any guesses?  Will definitely be sooner than before with Amazon having creative control now, but I’m also not too excited about it because of it.  I just hope it follows the Bond movie formula for the most part.  Keeping it simple is important!
