The question of whether James Bond will die again on screen is an uncomfortable one for longtime fans and personally makes me cringe at the thought. While bold creative swings can be refreshing, but rehashing James Bond’s death just be traumatizing. Will 007’s death be the awful signoff for all future Bonds, instead of figuratively riding off into the sunset victoriously? It’s difficult to imagine audiences embracing more Bond movies that end in tragedy and not triumph.

Or, imagine the horror show if they double down on death and treated each movie autonomously, each time 007 dying at the end and just comes back without explanation for the next mission in the next movie. Ugh, what a nightmare that would be!

Anyways, one can only hope that Broccoli and Wilson had the foresight to make it clear in handing over creative control to Amazon that a James Bond movie should never again conclude with 007’s death.
