We’ve seen Bond’s watch do just about everything, from Geiger counters and lasers to explosives and homing devices. At this point, the concept feels exhausted, and I’m far less enthusiastic about seeing another watch serve as a major gadget in a future Bond movie.

But my view is likely academic, however, since the watch remains perfect for franchise product placement and its accompanying revenue. So if the gadget must return, the more subtle the better. Instead of an elaborate EMP bomb like in No Time To Die, I’d rather see a more subtle garrote watch like in From Russia With Love.
