007 words or less twice daily @ 10:07 AM & PM UTC+00:00
You Only Live Twice (1967)

“Is that deep?” “They usually are…very.”

In You Only Live Twice, Bond and Kissy Suzuki stand slack-jawed as 007 realizes the caldera lake isn’t water at all.  It’s metal, and retractable to boot, and one of production designer Ken Adam’s masterpieces.  The volcano lair remains one of the crown jewels of Bond set design, and I’m not sure an equally impressive and timeless set could be conjured up these days.
