In Quantum Of Solace, Camille delivers this quick line after sabotaging Dominic Greene’s conversation with some investors. Her fake drunken stupor is effective, although I doubt Greene’s claim that her little performance would have actually cost him a deal. If the agreement was really that fragile, it probably wasn’t going to happen anyway.

Still, Camille’s line cuts straight to the heart of Greene’s villainous persona, because integrity is clearly in short supply when there’s money to be made. His exploitation of Bolivia’s water supply and orchestration of a coup reveal a man perfectly willing to profit from an entire population’s misery. As underwhelming as Greene can be as a screen presence, his scheme is actually one of the more believable examples of Bond villainy because it’s rooted in corruption that could easily translate to the real world. Camille’s observation feels especially fitting because corruption often begins when someone decides that integrity is simply another commodity with a price tag.
