How awesome is it that we got a young Benicio del Toro as a henchman in Licence To Kill before his meteoric rise and eventual Oscar-winning career? Looking back at Dario, it’s clear that del Toro understood the assignment and made his character far more memorable than his limited screen time might suggest.

Although Dario answers to Franz Sanchez, Dario is where the rubber meets the road and how Sanchez’s cruelty comes to life. His knack for violence is wide-ranging, from beatings and barfights to shootouts and executions. And he’s the enforcer behind one of the movie’s most vicious and impactful acts when he personally operates the winch that lowers Felix Leiter into the shark tank.

Oh, and don’t forget the awesomeness of his signature knife move, where he draws and flashes it above his head, showing he can be a threat instantly. He’s a badass.
