Slippery Slope: The Domesticated James Bond

I recently came across a report claiming that Ian Fleming disliked dogs, which may help explain why James Bond never had a faithful four-legged companion. Which makes practical sense really, since a globe-trotting secret agent would hardly be an ideal pet owner.

Such a “domesticated” side of James Bond really isn’t something I want to be explored in future James Bond movies. The cringe was real in No Time To Die when they toyed with this aspect of Bond’s life. They not only decided to give him a daughter but also had the gall to have James Bond, 007 make her breakfast. It’s an activity more suited for a romantic comedy than a spy movie.

Let’s keep James Bond out of “the house,” please!
