Tired trope: “New” or “newest” Bond headlines

It’s amazing but sadly not surprising how often random websites, including major movie and entertainment outlets, cryptically use “new” or “newest” when talking about James Bond topics like the 007 First Light video game or an audio adaptation of Charlie Higson’s Young Bond novel. It’s an obvious clickbait tactic to entice the reader to click thinking the article news about the next James Bond movie actor, and deserves shame.

ScreenRant (“James Bond Fans In Love With “Perfect” New 007″), Collider (“The Newest James Bond Has Officially Been Confirmed”), and others are guilty of this, and every time those headlines appear in search results, I immediately cringe before absolutely not clicking. Many fans are searching daily for genuine Bond 26 news, only to be teased by a headline that has nothing to do with the next movie or a new James Bond actor.

A little consideration would go a long way. Please think of the fans before chasing the clicks!
