The Man With The Golden Gun (1974)

Regarding the car jump slide whistle sound…

I mean obviously it’s a unique part of The Man With The Golden Gun and is infamous at this point, but I admit that I don’t hate it like some James Bond fans do. It may be childish, but with Sheriff JW Pepper riding shotgun to a James Bond that just did his best American southern accent, a slide whistle to follow an insane barrel roll car jump kind of tracks.

I don’t really buy into the opinion that the sound effect “ruins” the scene or is somehow sacrilegious to James Bond. I’d call the slide whistle sound’s inclusion as more of a quirk than a flaw.
