Quantum Of Solace (2008)

Sounds like you just lost another one!

Dominic Greene’s desperate outburst at the end of Quantum of Solace is as pathetic as it is misguided. Clinging to life and completely at Bond’s mercy, he’s in no position to provoke the man holding him over the edge. Taunting Bond with the suggestion that Camille was shot felt less like defiance and more like panic. He knew he was done for, and you could hear it in his voice.

I’ll give Quantum of Solace credit for giving its villain a unique fate. Rather than dying in the flames or at Bond’s hand, Greene is abandoned in the desert with nothing but a can of oil. It’s a fittingly clever fate for a man whose greed revolved around exploiting scarce resources.
