In Octopussy, Bond delivers this familiar saying to Magda while angling for a goodbye kiss. Once denied, it’s no skin off his back since he only pretends to be disappointed. He already knows she’s about to steal the fake Fabergé egg, complete with its hidden tracking device. It’s an instance where Moore’s Bond is entertaining when he feigns ignorance but plays coy because he’s actually holding all the cards. Or in this case, the high ground, as Magda makes her memorable balcony escape in a physically improbable wrap-dress-rope that leaves her in a bikini. Actions speak louder than words, indeed.
