Harris Dickinson is a compellingly low-key candidate for James Bond since, purely from a visual standpoint, he sits in a sweet spot. To me, he gives the look of Daniel Craig and Timothy Dalton without actually resembling either. If he were to match either of their acting prowess and presence as Bond, I’d be ecstatic.
But more importantly, his relative anonymity works in his favor since Bond has always benefited from actors who arrive without overwhelming baggage and a dimmer spotlight. Compared to Jacob Elordi, whose profile and physical presence risk overshadowing the role, Dickinson offers something more conservative. At 6’2″, he fits the high-end traditional James Bond mold without turning Bond into a towering 6’5″ spectacle with Elordi.
Although I could see Elordi in the role and I’d be fine with him, but I could also see a pick like this getting me even more excited about the prospect of the next few James Bond movies.
