This is one of those baffling editorial choices that refuses to justify itself. In Octopussy, as Roger Moore’s Bond swings on vines through the jungle evading Khan’s men, the added Tarzan yell turns what should be a tense escape into borderline parody.
If the intent was to suggest Bond mimicking the call, it raises an obvious question. Why would a trained agent sabotage his own stealth with a jungle scream? If it’s meant as background sound, it’s even stranger. Who exactly is making that noise, and why does it align so perfectly with Bond’s movement?
Taking a step back, the reasoning for its addition is probably the simplest (for humorous purposes), but wow, what a force!
