Another day, another post lamenting how difficult it has become to be a James Bond fan.

Instead of updates on movie casting or any updates at all, we get nothing. Well, aside from a reality TV contest nobody wanted (007: Road to a Million) and a video game nobody asked for (007 First Light). And I get it, the other extreme is having wall to wall Bond universe spinoffs and ads on banana labels (I’ve seen them for Star Wars) that would somewhat tarnish the character and Fleming’s legacy.

Still, there must be some middle ground. At present, the near total absence of updates risks alienating both dedicated followers and casual viewers which is puzzling, since a movie franchise of this stature shouldn’t be dormant for so long. For fans who have supported Bond for decades, the current silence is frustrating.
