From Russia With Love (1963)

Just isn’t your day, is it?

In a small tribute to James Bond in From Russia with Love, I find myself quoting this line when I have a bad case of the Mondays. The movie moment comes during the boat escape sequence when Bond ditches Grant’s contact by tossing him overboard. Although seemingly cruel, it’s actually a courteous gesture compared to other options like outright murder or stranding him ashore without his truck keys. Bond did, after all, ask if the man could swim and untied him first. Luckily for the man, he escapes with only a bruised ego and an unexpected swim. Fair enough, I’d say.
