On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969)

He had lots of guts!

This Bond quip from On Her Majesty’s Secret Service was quite the graphic tongue-in-cheek line, based on the circumstances, and slightly overreaches.  Delivered as Bond and Tracy launch into the ski chase, the line follows a henchman’s grisly death in a snow blower that sprays the mountainside red. Rather than landing as darkly witty, it comes off as jarringly graphic and a bit tasteless. It’s clever in concept, but the execution undercuts the moment and highlights one of Lazenby’s weaker attempts at Bond’s trademark gallows humor.
