She’s just dead!

Bond’s flippant remark after using Fiona Volpe as a human shield in Thunderball is a striking display of his calculated ruthlessness.  The moment leans into the absurd when Bond casually covers the gunshot wound with his fingers (how did he know so quickly where she’d get shot?), but as a grim punchline, deposits her lifeless body among unsuspecting bystanders.

It’s a reminder of Bond’s unyielding prioritization of the mission over sentiment.  His detachment is warranted, of course, as Fiona is a known SPECTRE operative and a direct threat.  So it’s no surprise that he treats her death with zero emotional investment.
