Following up on the previous post regarding Martin Campbell’s comments for Denis Villeneuve on Bond 26 – his additional point that “the way the world is at the moment” offers “fertile ground” for captivating stories is way overstated. Modern settings dominated by social media, ubiquitous smartphones, cryptocurrencies, and, inevitably, endless hacking subplots hardly provide the most compelling terrain for Bond. If anything, those elements risk flattening the escapism and timeless elegance that define the character.
A reboot isn’t just an option, it’s the clearest, cleanest path to restoring the mythic quality of James Bond.
