Licence To Kill (1989)

Licence To Kill’s biggest weakness? Sanchez’s compound

Every other setting and plot point of Licence To Kill is absolutely perfect.  But any scene at his cheesy (I think it’s more than just a 1980s thing), campy compound makes me cringe a little.  Were the “headlight fish fountains” really necessary?  Or the “fish with a human face” statue?!

This might be my favorite seven words from a James Bond movie ever.  Something about the subtlety of this “gadget” makes it one of the best.  Maybe its practicality?  Q Branch should get back to this for Bond 26 – simple gadgets that are outwardly advantageous to Bond but uncommon to the public.
